Cleveland, Ohio Things to Do
Cleveland is the biggest city in Lake Erie, situated in a prominent location. Cleveland is known around the world as the town in which the word rock & roll came to the forefront and is home to many famous people.
It was also the final resting place for several famous American presidents, including John D. Rockefeller and James B. Garfield. The historic town of this vibrant town offers a wealth of interesting places to visit and learn, as well as to explore. There are several wonderful natural areas for exploration including historic buildings and early 20th-century buildings in the city.
01. Meet the monkeys at Cleveland Metroparks Zoo
Located in Cleveland, MetroParks is an enormous 183 hectare zoological center that combines wild animal and recreational pursuits, golf courses and retail. The park has served as an Ohio institution since 1881, with replica savannahs, Australian woodlands and rainforests.
The Zoo has an impressive primatological collection including gorillas and lemurs. Other interesting exhibits of Asian mountain animals include red pandas, snow leopards and amur leopards. A visit to Metroparks is surely a great place to go to Cleveland.

02. Stroll back in time at Dinos Alive
Is it possible for a person to look at fossils? See a reality! I guess so. Although this immersive walking experience does not offer dinosaur-themed experiences, it is next-best, cutting-edge technology gives a real-life recreation of these long-lost creatures.
Watch the mesmerising mechanical movements of the T exes, Ankylosaurs and Stegosaura. When you see these incredible robots, your memory quickly becomes lost.

03. See dinosaur skeletons at Cleveland Museum of Natural History
The Cleveland Natural Historical Museum has a wonderful collection. There are plenty of dinosaurs in the universe that you can explore. The park's Perkins Wildlife Centre has live species of wildlife that are native to Ohio. It houses reproductions of early hominines named Lucy thought to be around 3 million, as well as the largest collection of skeletal remains from humans.
04. Stuff yourself with delicacies at Little Italy Cleveland
Cleveland's Little Italy offers its most prestigious restaurants and the oldest. From humble pizza and restaurant places to renowned restaurants and baked goods, visitors should be able to enjoy every detail of the menu.
Guarina's at Mayfield Street was the city's earliest restaurant in 1918 and has maintained its cozy atmosphere and historic charm. Served are traditional pizzas and a pasta restaurant.
05. Cleveland Orchestra at Severance Hall
The famous Cleveland Orchestra has a venue at Severance Hall 15 minutes from the centre. The city's most famous museums and attractions are within walking distance. Built in 1933 this unique concert hall is a huge auditorium and a large stage.
The magnificent foyer has beautiful marble columns, papyrus and lotus motif flowers. This historic site is a delight when visited by the internationally famous orchestra which regularly plays Mozart's works.
06. Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum
The Rock ’ n Roll Hall of Fame and museums are among a variety of attractions that are worth visiting, whether you visit as a tourist or a music-loving person. In 1995 it opened to more than 8 million tourists, which ranged from regular visitors to famous figures.
In this museum, you can view numerous items from the permanent exhibition to the temporary exhibit that are all related to the great and enduring musicians of the rock and roll genre. If your desire, it is also possible to watch films, hear speakers and panel discussions, and even take part in a live performance in Cleveland!
07. Check out the Arcade Cleveland
Do you have a place to go to Cleveland? I'm currently twice in Milan to visit Vittorio Esmanuel II. It's obvious I was drawn to Arcade Cleveland! Shopping arcades are commonplace in Europeans, but they are actually surprisingly rare in America today. This beautiful building has been built since 1890 to be America's first indoor shopping complex.
Is it surprising that Rockefeller was a financier? The Cleveland Arcade is a nine story structure with an arcade glass of more than 300 m. The Hyatt Regency is now divided into three categories and the bottom level is packed with shops. We ate lunch at the 1890 restaurant.
08. Historic Tremont Food Tour
Any foodie loves Historic Tremont's Food Tour in downtown Cleveland. People who support gastronomic traditions have heard about Tremont's fame for its cuisine. The guide takes you through downtown Tremont dotted with history and contrasting traditions.
There are 4 restaurant choices to enjoy an authentic taste of popular cuisine tinged in nostalgia. For authentic Thai cuisine and authentic pizzas cooked using old-fashioned methods, move from cozy and affordable Cleveland delights to luxurious upscale restaurants.
09. Check out the Cleveland Museum of Contemporary Art
Take the lake view or moontruck to the MOCA Museum or Cleveland Contemporary Art Museum. You can see a geometrical building created by Iranian architect Farshid Moussavi. There is an easy entry and you will discover some interesting things on 3 of the 4 floors. During my visit my favourite exhibit is Lee Mingwei entitled You are not alien.”. Funny fact MOCA was started by a group of women in 1968!
10. Catch a baseball game at Progressive Field
Progressive Field serves a baseball club in Cleveland since 1994. The Indian team holds the longest winning streak in the major leagues, winning 22 straight games in 2017. There have been at least 30 baseball Hall of Famers. The Indians underwent major rebranding and shall officially be called the Cleveland Guardians in 2022. Come and see a game in a popular locale and celebrate the baseball history.
11. Visit a tropical rainforest at Cleveland Botanical Garden
Those interested in natural wonders will enjoy the Cleveland Botanical Garden. It has two tropical glasshouses displaying exotic plant and tree varieties originating from Costa Rica and Madagascar. It will surely provide a unique experience to the city. Meet Glass House plated lizards & tortoise.
Botanical Gardens offer a number of outdoor attractions including an Asian garden and perennial gardens, and there are many tranquil areas where you can relax and enjoy nature. The gardens include art galleries, café and library.
12. Grab a quick breakfast at Pour Cleveland
Near Kimpton Schofield is an adorable café Pour Cleveland. The store also sells light roast coffee and has some delicious bagel and muffins available for you to order. The Roasts of San Sebastian have macadamian milk and sesame bread made from black pepper and thyme ice cream – yum. My mother ate a sweet chocolate sesame bagel and she even took the leap from her dietary limitations to try the strawberries cream cheese.
13. Explore the Greater Cleveland Aquarium
The large population of Cleveland's Greater Cleveland Aquarium includes three species: shark stingray eels and oysters. See the wonderful little creatures swimming above you. It has a variety of habitats, which include a native Ohio River, tropical forests and reefs, and a coastal boardwalk. Guests can enjoy touch-up pools to see the stingrays, the seahorses, the cleaner shrimps, the corals and other creatures.
14. Wander around Cleveland Public Square
The historic public place in the city has occupied the city's history since the 1700s. This newly renovated building offers an eatery, amphitheater, lawn and ice skating rink. The hotel hosts many large public activities such as concerts, rallies and parades. On a historic note, the Square once contained both Lincoln's and James A. Garfield's bodies.
The square is full of beautiful landmarks for visitors to enjoy. The other to Moses Cleaveld and his founders, soldiers and sailors, and the impressive fountain of eternal existence, Memorials of War.
15. Areas & Neighborhoods in Cleveland
Cleveland's neighborhood offers plenty of things to do and activities for solo travelers or family vacations. All districts here are always well-equipped with activities. Cleveland Heights - These East suburbs have an independent, quirky spirit.
There's also an interesting stopover in Cain Park for the toys shop. You can see documentary films at Cedar Lee Theatre. Little Italy — Like the name suggests, this Cleveland neighborhood celebrates anything that has to do with Italian cuisine.
16. Relax at the waterside in Edgewater Park
Edgewater Park is situated near Lake Erie and covers both Perkins and Edgewater beaches and also has a marina. This region offers excellent opportunities to experience water sports like stand-up kayaking and paddleboarding in its natural surroundings. Several boat rentals and boat launch sites are available. A popular Cleveland Script Sign is located at the lakebank and is ideal for taking a picture.
17. Pick up some snacks at Heinen's of Downtown Cleveland
You should look into Heinens when you are in Cleveland. In 1929 the city's only butcher shop began a chain of 24 supermarkets spread throughout Ohio and Illinois. The Downtown store is situated in a beautiful historic building which was once a banking establishment and is open 24 hours a year. The grocery store offers an excellent choice of hand made cheeses and meat as well as excellent deli items. Please look around. Buy as many copies as you can for the Cleveland native.
18. Visit the International Women's Air & Space Museum
Find out more about women in aviation at the International Women's Air and Space Museum. Find a collection of exhibitions on daredevils aircraft pilots. The museum contains information about pioneers including Amelia Earhart and Jackie Cochran. The International Women's Air and Space Museum is located at Burke Lakefront Airport.
19. Grab a snack at West Side Market
Before you leave the terminal, make a stop at the Eastside Market in Ohio City. Initially established in 1840, it is the oldest indoor-outdoor marketplace and the building dates from 1912.
There are numerous vendors on the market, from normal grocery stores to genuine food stores. Take a step onto the first floor for a nice view of the entire market. My friends suggested we do some sightseeing but we did not run one on our trip. After eating you can go to a little park and enjoy the views.
20. Tour the WWII submarine, USS COD
Docking in Cleveland Harbor is the American Heritage and museum vessel "The Cod". The submarine was constructed in Connecticut in 1942 with seven patrol missions including rescue of allied forces throughout WW2.
Visitors have the possibility of taking a guided tour of the ship so that they can see how life lived for the crew. Discover the Control Room and understand the steering of the ship. Look inside the crowded Torpedo rooms that had bunk beds. The USS Cod is an intriguing story of U.S Naval History.
21. Solve puzzles in an escape room challenge
Can you try something new during your stay in Cleveland? Play puzzle-based games together and solve a puzzle. Choose between a selection of rooms themed with murder mysteries, rediscovered ancient cities and viruses.
Go through forests – even during the 1930s! Perplexity Game Escape rooms and Escape room are both fantastic! Please solve everything as soon as possible. The Escape Room Challenge is fun for all ages from 5 years to 10 years old.
22. See masterpieces at The Cleveland Museum of Art
The Cleveland Museum of Contemporary Art collection comprises nearly 62,000 objects that includes ancient artwork and contemporary art. Among those highlighted is the work of Picasso, Renoir, Matisse, Botticelli and Caravaggi. The museum has items from across the world including some from Ancient Egypt and Asia. Do you want an inspiring journey? Admission is free.
23. Ride the rollercoasters at Cedar Point
Cedar Point is known for a series of thrilling rollercoasters and is a favorite tourist destination in Ohio. Cedar Point offers many activities, including slides and rides, and an 18-acre waterpark with live concerts and shows.
Cedarpoint is stocked with 17 rollercoasters for thrill seekers. Millennium Force - the knee-trembling Midnight Force - was the worlds first roller coaster that climbed over 400 metres from its debut in 1999.
24. Stay at the A Christmas Story House
That's right! It shows Christmas movies in which young kids have their tongues frozen. Visit A Christmas Story House. Stop by the museum right beside the street to see the props and souvenirs of the films.
Tourists may stay overnight at Ralph's home, which features vintage eclectic decor from the 1940s and 50's. Visit a gift store to find a leg lamp that is dedicated to the classic Christmas movie.
25. See famous headstones at Lake View Cemetery
In Lakeview Cemetery, there are many other beautiful places that will make a visit. It's worth visiting with its elaborate mosaic and glass windows. Lake View is John D. Rockefeller's final burial site and features a great monument.
It's also where Elliot Ness buried himself, the famous prohibition official famous for his shrewd and unrepentant approach towards bootleggers. The skull of Alan Freed, the local radio DJ coining the phrase rock & roll, was probably the most exciting gravestone ever. Look at this while visiting the city.
26. See antique cars at Cleveland History Center

27. See seasonal displays at Rockefeller Park and Greenhouse
Rockefeller Park is named after wealthy investor John. Rockefeller donated this area for Cleveland. It was opened in 1902 with a Green House that had been originally planted as part of a park.
This garden wasn't even accessible to anyone. Guests will now be able to visit the greenhouse along with many garden areas, including the Japanese Garden Talking Garden for the Blind, and the Latin American Garden. All day the park is open with a parking fee for guests.
28. Spot wildlife at Rocky River Reservation
The Rocky River Reservation has a rocky coastline that may be a bit obvious to you if you knew that. The sloped shale rocks form spectacular gorges surrounded by dense forests and lush wetlands.
The area is the home of several birds and visitors might find whitetail deer. Amongst the visual landmarks is the Berea Falls, seen from the right angles and surrounded by three beautiful stone bridges. There are many walking trails and boardwalks available.
29. Attend a Browns game at the FirstEnergy Stadium
This Stadium served as the home of the Cleveland Browns football team from 1946 until today. First Energy Stadium is located in Cleveland, Ohio dating from 1930. It regularly holds football matches at college football and international matches.
The First Energy Stadium hosts the biggest concert passes through Cleveland which includes bands like Motley Crue Poison and Joan Jett with The BlackHearts.
30. Play and learn at The Children's Museum of Cleveland
Childrens museums give young children a chance to explore. It features exhibits including a smaller version of the town featuring farmers markets, doctors' clinics and other shops. Children can develop a lot of confidence in building and climbing skills, and play.
You can try out engineering at an industrial science lab and get costumed to participate in group theatre performances. Experience sounds and music and try creative projects at home. It offers everything to children ages 7 and 8 and also is great fun for adults.
